开罗德国大学是一所私立大学，是在埃及教育部高等教育和几个德国机构的主持下建立的，成立于2002年。大学教学语言为英语。大学开设德语课程。大学毕业生被授予埃及和国际认可的毕业证书。大学为优秀学生提供奖学金补贴。 开罗德国大学成立后与乌尔姆和斯图加特州立大学合作，在埃及高等教育部、科技部、艺术研究、德国巴登 - 符腾堡州德国学术交流中心（DAAD）的支持下建立，还包括德国驻埃及大使馆，阿拉伯/德国商会（AHK）工商部，联邦教育和研究，德国图宾根大学，曼海姆州立大学也大力支持。 开罗德国大学开设专业包括科技管理、工商管理、信息管理、药剂及生物技术、工程技术、信息工程、材料科学与工程学、应用艺术学、建筑学等等。
