Located in amongst the trees in the forest of kaunas along the river shore, the house considered 'an autograph among the pine trees' by lithuanian firm studija archispektras finds itself a symbiotic addition to the tree-scape. raw natural materials are present throughout the project, large tinted glass panes maintain a relationship to the exterior, vertical oxygenated steel plates add a natural orange texture reminiscent of the arboreal environment, and exposed concrete with its neutral tones as a backdrop for the vibrant colors of the home and site. solid oak makes up the material of the interior fixtures and various elements including the stairs, floors, ceilings, cabinets and doors to offer a warmer palette counterbalancing the colder exterior envelope. the minimalist interior backdrops the nature of the pure surfaces that define the soul of the home. studio lighting has been placed throughout, to allow the owners to specifically focus only the required fixtures on the desired spot. the swimming pool is situated in an intermediate buffer space between the back yard and the private program, in a greenhouse-like space featuring a parti of glass, concrete, steel and white panels.
