最初见到“一个中间有圆的住宅”，是在MAD旅行基金的汇报会上。潘晖作为2012年被资助的学生之一，到达了埃及，旅行归来后，他提到说有想要表达的东西，最后通过 “一个中间有圆的住宅”进行表达。这个作品与潘晖的旅行照片都让人印象深刻。

一个中央有个圆的住宅
灵感：设计灵感来源于一座在安徽旅行中偶遇的古建筑,其别致的入口古典而神秘。其正圆形的入口引发观者去往神秘的彼岸的畅想，而两侧若隐若现的楼梯亦暗示着另一个世界的存在。
空间：本设计亦试图使用简单的圆形在一私宅（业主为一对艺术家夫妇）中还原类似的氛围。利用位于住宅正中心的圆形将其划分成两个世界，同时两个性格迥异的院子将其分别定义并引入与城市间含蓄对话的可能。暗藏的走道与隐秘直上的楼梯则将带我们去往最为静谧的彼岸。
城市：在城市层面,尝试以沉默的姿态应对混乱、快速变迁、拼贴的城市环境，外部选择以最为质朴的材质并使用普遍的坡顶形式融入环境，但在比例细节上则追求一种陌生感的存在。在沿街入口处设计天井引入光线以暗示城市与建筑内在世界的过渡。
建造：建筑物主体外壳由混凝土现浇，中央的有圆洞的墙体为承重墙体。混凝土主体外壳之内填充次级木质结构。室内材料与细部朴素精简，以在一定程度上消除空间的物质性。

水院

A residence with a round
Inspiration: The design was inspired by an ancient and mysterious building which I meet during a travel in Anhui province. It’s circular entrance caused viewers’ imagination of the mysterious other side, what’s more, the partly hidden stairs implies the existence of another world.
Space: This design attempts to use a simple round in a private residence to create similar atmosphere as he ancient building in Anhui. The wall which has a round divides the residence into two different worlds which are respectively defined by two gardens . The possibility implicit dialogue between city are retained. Hidden walkways and secret upgoing staircase will take us to the most serene side.
City: Trying to keep silence to the confusion and rapid change city environment, the most simple material is selected for the external facade and using the common form of sloping roof . However ,the proportion and details is the pursuit of a sense of strangeness .In the entrance the skylight implies the transition from the city to the Internal world.
Construction: Main shell of the residence is made of concrete, the central wall which has a round hole is the bearing structure .The other ancillary spaces are the product of a secondary inserted two storey timber-framed structure. Interior materials and details is kept simple to reduce the materiality.

旅行感悟
今年暑假非常幸运能够得到MAD的资助前往向往已久的埃及。此次旅行毫无意外地令我感触良多。从开罗这座奇特的属于过去的城市，到那些不同时代的建筑都引发我不断地思考。
无论是在埃及还是曾经在印度的旅行中，令我感动的建筑不断提醒我材料、结构、光影、比例、均衡等作为创造空间、营造氛围的基本要素的存在。我时常被一束不知来源的神秘光线抑或一个尺度奇特的庭院所打动，他们含蓄而动人，提醒我什么是真正接近心灵的空间特质。他们也往往成为我设计的最直接的灵感来源。当然，更重要的是不同文明、各个时代的迥然不同的伟大建筑不断地提醒着我了解自己国家的历史文化的重要性。
照片是我最主要的记录空间的媒介。图像不仅能够较为全面的记录感人的空间本身，更重要的是能够引起我对于那个特定瞬间的特定氛围的回忆，并且保留重新审视、理性解析的可能性。跟随我四年的便携相机与我如影随形，随时等待捕捉感动我的瞬间。
