On a lot on the edge of Lake Scrovistea, in Bucharest, a young family wanted a dream house.
The lot is very much influenced by nature and the surrounding water; thus, the permanent residence could only be a part of the landscape and draw
its inner spaces from it. The terraces, windows and interior spaces face the surroundings and the lake. Nowadays the lot is a micro fauna and flora, specific for the outskirts of Bucharest.
The staircase – with a skylight – openly goes through all the levels: from the ground floor living areas, opened towards the pool yard, to the second level hobby studio, each level having its own terrace.
The main element of the yard is the pool that functions half of the year.
The surrounding water, the plot shape and the urban rules led to a compact volume, whereas the finishes, the light and the spatial configuration create a Mediterranean atmosphere.
