场地

参赛资格

AWRcompetition proposes the design of a new temporary church in the evocative site of Preikestolen better known as the Pulpit Rock, Norway. Design a place of worship requires a careful study of the theme. In these magnificent places, which have always inspired the minds of architects and engineers in every age, nothing is left to chance.

Any material or the choice of the type of the light inside the church, are just some of the issues that should be further explored.

Finally, the fact that this project must be designed in such a particular place, makes it even more exciting challenge.

SITE AREA
The Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen) is the most famous tourist attraction in Ryfylke, towers an impressive 604 metres over the Lysefjord. The plateau is approximately 25 x 25 metres, flat and you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Lysefjord and surrounding mountains.
This site hosts hundreds of visitors each year, especially in the warmer months.
In the winter months in fact, the weather conditions make it quite difficult and dangerous travel the roads to reach the Pulpit Rock.
Often place like this, where nature tends to overwhelm the man for his beauty, people feel close to them a very strong spirituality, and it is for this reason that we chose to propose the design of a spiritual place like a church, for this so charming site.

ELIGIBILITY
Students, architects, engineers, and designers are invited to participate to this competition. Admissions will be accepted for individuals as well as teams. Teams should be made up of no more than five members and can be multidisciplinary.

Each winning project will be published, if possible, on different scientific magazines and on several architecture blogs and websites, national and international. Winners and Honorable mentions will be published on the Website awrcompetitions.com
