这是Jose Maria在2010年-2011年之间，将一个古老的修道院改建成旅馆项目进行的改扩建项目，项目总建筑面积4000平米，包括展示、餐饮及住宿等服务设施空间。


       空间中设计的重点是在修道院东侧的多角形教室后方设计一广场。同时与原有的修道院产生友好互动并可与现有建筑融为一体。


       “Claustrum”在拉丁语中，意味开敞空间四周布置着行走通道或开敞式的美术馆，内部设置拱形游廊。设计中，基于这种想法，主要的空间设计以生活空间为主。


       围绕着原有修道院，这个项目也同时提倡了并体现了一神论的主张。新建筑将包含原有修道院、食堂和多种形式的休憩场所，也通过这种形式表达体现对修道院教规的一种尊重。


       这个修道院作为一处遗迹由1877年保存至今，2007年，该建筑从教堂分离出来，被设计为在通往St. James路上，一处可为游客提供高质量服务的由政府经营的旅馆。该项目在充分尊重原有遗迹的同时，力图使新建筑与老建筑充分融合在一起。

2010-2011 THIS PROJECT

Exhibition&Restaurant facilities in an old Monastery,4.000m2.

The most important space in the project is the square that is created behind the apse of the church. Pretend to be a single space, accessible and friendly helpful whit the existing monastery.

Claustrum, in latin, is the open space surrounded by covered walks or open galleries, with open arcades on the inner side.

The new building reuses this idea, being this one, the main space where all spaces live in.

Surrounding a pre-existent monastery, this project proposes a unitarian program that puts one in mind of the old cloister. The final goal of the project was to create a new basement for this religious monument. The new building completes the monastery with a restaurant and various lounges. The expansion is done in a respectful way and under the laws of the monastery.

The monastery has been protected as a monument since 1877. In 2007 the buildings, apart from the church, were designated for conversion into a Parador, a high-quality accommodation to travelers on the way of St. James.The project aims to create a new building that supports this new complex, being respectful with this ancient heritage.
