| 奥尔胡斯剧院在1900年由建筑师Hack Kampmann建造，原建筑只包括带舞台和少量其他附属设施的剧院礼堂。自1955年开始，C.F. Møller Architects参与到几次对该剧院现有建筑的扩建、改造、维护及翻修的工作中。丹麦艺术家Karl Hansen-Reistrup给该建筑装饰了富有雕塑感的纹饰，使得奥尔胡斯剧院以它极富特色的“新艺术派”建筑风格而显得与众不同。
Aarhus Theatre was built in 1900 by the architect Hack Kampmann, and the original building only included the Theatre auditorium with the stage and few other facilities. Since 1955 C.F. Møller Architects has been involved in numerous extensions, restoration, maintenance and refurbishment work of the now listed building. The theatre distinguishes itself by its very characteristic “Art Nouveau” architectural style, with rich sculptural ornamentation by Danish artist Karl Hansen-Reistrup.

Most recently extensive conservation works was done in the main theatre space and modernised technical facilities were added. Also a new café and foyer stage, Café Hack, was designed in the north wing of the building. At present an extensive renovation of the second largest stage at Aarhus Theatre, Scala, is taking place. At the same time, the public areas will also be brought up to modern standards as will the smaller stages: Stiklingen and the Studio-stage.

Scala is originally an extension of the Aarhus Theatre designed by C. F. Møller Architects and built in 1955. Until 1980, Scala served as concert hall and movie theatre with 880 spectator seats.

Since then, Scala has served as Aarhus Theatre's second largest stage, with almost 300 seats - like the rest of the theatre the interior is listed, including the lighting fixtures especially designed in 1955 by world-famous designer Poul Henningsen.

Since 1971 C.F. Møller has undertaken numerous conversions and renovation projects within the theatre:
1971: Conversion and extension of stage tower with new technical facilities for the stage
1978: Conversion of the stage to horizontal floor, new rotating stage
1980-82: Conversion of Scala, with new Scala stage, ca. 350 seats, Stiklingen with ca. 100 seats, new foyer, new joinery workshop, new decorators workshop, new canteen, wardrobes ect
1987: Renovation of the acting academy
1994: Renovation of main slate roof, insulation and fireproofing
1995: Renovation of the theatre auditorium following the original 1900 design with new chairs designed using Kampmann's drawings, renovation of ceilings and walls.
1996: Renovation of the foyer
2000: Renovation of the main hall, re-paving of the front stairs, re-paving the main square using natural stone
2001: Conversion and reopening of Café Hack
2002: Interior design and fit-out of Café Hack
2011: Renovation of the Scala stage and interior.
