在德岛市一个安静的区块上坐落着一个头重脚轻的建筑，这是由Y＋M事务所设计的芭蕾舞学校。通过三层的结构形式，镶嵌的玻璃墙呈现不同程度的透明度。尖角的屋顶形式代表一种自由和流体运动，给予足够的高度，以允许在芭蕾练习中的托举动作。同时，夸张的屋顶檐篷也作为了停放在外面的汽车和自行车的遮阳篷。

The top heavy structure in a quiet neighbor in tokushima city is a classic ballet school by y+M design office. Characterized by a three tier structural form, a mosaic glass wall plays with the degrees of transparencies. The pointed roof form represents a free-hand and fluid motion, giving enough height to allow lifted movements during ballet practice. Simultaneously, the exaggerated eaves of the roof canopy acts as a shade and cover for the car and bike parking outside.

建筑师描述道：“我们试着使芭蕾舞学校更平易近人，更容易被城镇的居民接受。我们将H型钢结构梁柱应用到设计中，并且在外墙用水泥木丝板营造随和而有机的印象。”

The architects comment: ‘we tried to make the ballet school approachable, easy coming for the town. For it we designed that pillar and beam structure-steel shaped ‘h’ character is uncovered and wood wool cement board is used for exterior wall to give an offhand and organic impression.’

在功能分区上，服务区和更衣室被置于一楼，同时整个二楼都作为了舞蹈工作室。为了能以一个开心振奋的状态来为学生上课，从入口到工作室的路线是沿着建筑四周用台阶围成的斜坡慢慢走到教室的，路程足够长，使教师可以调整好心态。

Programmatically, the services and dressing rooms have been placed on the ground floor, meanwhile the whole upper level has been dedicated to the dance studio. Aiming to prepare an uplifting mindset for the student’s lesson, the protracted journey from the entrance point to the studio itself consists of a route that follows the perimeter of the building and the steps travel up in a gradual slope until the classroom.

有高天花板、光线和通风的工作室被屋顶包裹，不规则的形式区分和强调了由木材包覆的天花板的棱角。镜墙和芭蕾舞杠呼应其功能，同时，随机布置的开口提供了自然光的进入与眉山远景的观赏。

Comprised of high ceilings, the light and airy studio is based within the roof where the irregular form has distinguished the angularity of the ceiling and emphasized by the timber cladding. Mirrored walls and the ballet barre responds to its function, meanwhile randomly placed openings provide natural light with distant views of bizan mountains.
