carlo cafferini composes façades that express different concepts

carlo cafferini is an award-wining italian photographer with a keen eye for architecture that in his recent works has shown a special interest in the details and geometries of his surroundings. ‘fantasy motel’ is one of his series where he conceptualizes on the idea of façades expressing concepts, moods or ideas. with the help of photo editing software, he creates hypnotic compositions that with simple twitches say different things.

这一系列作品的基本原型来自cafferini自摄的阿姆斯特丹的一家漂浮旅馆外立面。建筑原来的立面采用了中性的色彩以及规律的模式，允许他可以通过窗户和窗帘的重复和定位突出来表达他的概念。因此形成了一系列引人入胜的建筑立面，它们通过简单的几何构图试图传达一些简单的想法或者复杂一点的概念。

the basic pattern for series comes from a floating hotel in amsterdam shot by cafferini himself. the original façade had neutral colors and regular patterns which allowed him to express his concept, playing with repetition and positioning of windows and curtains. the result is a series of captivating building faces that try to convey through their geometries some simple ideas and some other that are a bit more complex.
