This is an apartment renovation in Shanghai Pudong. With the requirements of the client, designer brings the maximum light and landscape into the space.
Creating comfortable and poetic space was the core of the design, the soft green edge was a borderland which change the perceptions of tiny and stiff L-shaped house. The planted wall next to the restaurant coped well with the embarrassed relationship in the T-shaped corridor softly. The landscape extended from the entrance through to the kitchen, living room, balcony and bedroom as a courtyard which recreated the oriental and modern atmosphere.
The original partition was tiny and conventional, as the child grows older, the client needs another room. The designer demolished the wall to classified the balcony as part of bedroom while the children’s bedroom was disposed between living room and bedroom which brings more storage space for the tatami room and entertainment space to the children.
The restaurant, open kitchen and balcony were transformed to the public space after the designer demolished the wall to the kitchen. Home plays an important role in our daily life, the open spatial structure increases more communication between members, it is independent but communicative.
The northern balcony was connected by the landscape with the living room. Happiness can be found in this apartment such as drawing, creating, doing yoga and playing chess which witnessed the growing of the family.
