314工作室的避暑住宅的翻新方案设置在希腊科孚岛的一个西悬崖上，周围被橄榄树与海洋包围。这座房子位于悬崖的边缘，就像一座灯塔，拥有壮观的海洋全景。偏远的位置为住宅带来宁静的气息，由于晚上没有过多的灯光，该地区拥有美丽的星夜。这就是这里被称为“午夜星海”的原因。

314’s refurbishment proposal of a summer house is set on a western cliff of corfu island in greece, covered in olive trees and surrounded by sea. The house is located on the edge of a cliff, like a lighthouse having a spectacular panoramic view of the ionion pelagos. The remote location of the house provides tranquillity and due to the absence of artificial light at night, the area provides a tremendous view of the stars. This is why the property is called ‘the midnight stars’.

Greek based 314 architecture studio‘s main goal for this refurbishment project is to propose a new design embracing corfu’s vernacular architecture, interpreted by a more contemporary design language. The arch is the main component for 314’s design. Due to the decomposition of the traditional typology and the rate of repetition of the arch element, the design team has created a minimal contemporary form. The house is a 300 m2 building located in a site expanding to 6,000 m2 total area. 314 has tried to stay on these circumstances without affecting any of the natural environment.

主入口位于住宅的地下一层，通向由一系列拱券围成的开放空间，这里是一个整体活动区域，其中包括客厅、厨房以及餐厅灯功能。现有的柱子包裹着三角形镜面板，建筑师通过这种手法让石柱看上去显得不那么厚重，另外它也反射了周围的景色。

The main entrance located in the ground floor of the house leads to an open space surrounded by a series of arches, making it an extrovert area with a monolithic composition.The living room along with the kitchen and dining room are located in this part of the summer house. The existing columns are cladded with mirrored panels in a triangular form. The original volume of the pillars are thus decomposed rendering it light weight and transparent as it also reflects the view and the surrounding landscape.

314工作室采用天然材料白水泥用于地板和墙壁，这使人想起一块废弃的石墙。房子外面，庭院和游泳池用无涂层混凝土制成。主卧室和客房面对着游泳池。室内设计了弯曲的天花板，圆顶和拱券的交叉点共同形成了这个当代的设计。工作室为建筑的上方楼层设计了一个更封闭的体块，让人们在休息区里能够确保隐私性，但建筑始终朝向景观面，人们可以从卧室欣赏到落日美景。

Studio 314 has used natural materials as white cement plastered floors and walls, in a pattern that reminds of a ruined stone wall. Outside the house the patio and the swimming pool are made by uncoated concrete. Facing the swimming pool, there is the master bedroom and a guest room. The interior of the house has been designed with curved ceilings and in this way the intersections of domes and arches have created this contemporary design. Leading to the upper level, the studio has designed a more closed volume which allows the resting area to have their privacy, but always keeping in mind the orientation for the appreciation of the breath-taking views from the bedrooms towards the sunset.
