The project consists of the design of the new office space for Spicebox, a global digital agency that works with strategic planning, interactive offers and creative digital marketing, and is part of Hakuhodo. The name of the company symbolizes the ability to offer surprises and delights, as a variety of stimuli that come out of a box. For this reason, we designed seven meeting rooms in the shape of a box of different sizes and finishes around the office, which are accessed from a wall that seems to have been cut open.
Each box opens in a slightly different way, which subtly connects interior and exterior and sets sight lines to create a spatial experience in which each box is revealed as the user walks around the office.
The entrances, flipped and open, turn the area around each into a semi-open corner, and functional elements that don’t need to be displayed, such as the photocopy machine, trash cans and fridge, can be hidden behind the boxes. Our idea was to not only design the interior of the boxes, but also the area around them as an active office environment where people can easily work and interact.
