纽约建筑联盟和Pen World Voices Festival为纽约市带来了迷你型开放图书馆。十位设计师被选中每人在曼哈顿商业区设计一个小型免费图书馆。设计工作室 Stereotank选中的地点是诺利塔的圣帕特里克旧教堂学校。

The Architectural League of New York partnered with Pen World Voices Festival to bring Little Free Library to New York City. Ten designers were chosen to create one Little Free Library each in Downtown Manhattan.

这个街头迷你开放图书馆深受当地市民的喜爱，在这里，设计师提倡弘扬传统的纸质阅读方式并且旨在为市民打造一个开放的阅读环境。该设计创造出了一个小“居住”环境，读者在这个小图书馆里时，能暂时和外界隔绝，浏览书籍，将自己完全沉浸读书的乐趣中，当然还可以在这里完成借阅和归还。

Stereotank was selected to design a Little Free Library at St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral School in Nolita. The design consisted in creating an 'inhabitable' Little Free Library, where users could immerse themselves and take the time to browse through books and borrow or exchange them.

该结构是由一个倒置的塑料箱和一个木制框架组成。塑料箱周围还有一些巧妙的小圆孔设计。过往行人通过小孔可以看到图书馆里面，也许还会不自觉被吸引进去。在街头巷尾你都可以体验到阅读的快乐，并且每个人都可以通过这个黄色的小型免费图书馆交换书籍，那么这样一来所有人都可能成为参与者，没准还能交到几个志同道合的好友，真是不错的创意。

The structure is built out of an upside down plastic tank and a wooden frame. Perforations around the tank allow visitors to peek inside and preview the interior, which invites them to duck under and discover the book collection while still having a connection with the exterior.
