Magnus Celestii 是Joseph Walsh工作室第一件此类规模的作品。作品名称来源于拉丁文Magnus（“大”）和Celesti（天空的）。Joseph十分注重体验，这个大规模的装置可以让参观者流连其间。

Joseph Walsh has realized an all encompassing, freely spiraling ash wood sculpture titled ‘Magnus Celestii’ – his studio’s first work of this scale to be completed.

该作品在罗氏法院的新艺术中心展示。这个自由线条的大型雕塑采用多层白蜡木制成，外表颜色是橄榄灰，最后加以白油涂层。从地板蜿蜒上升至天花板。从开端的桌面造型向外扩散直到包围整个“艺术之家”的空间，最终悬挂栖息在画廊侧墙上成为大的搁架。“艺术之家”的展览空间为Joseph提供了在Roche Court新艺术中心特有环境下诠释形态和功能关系的机会，并且遵守了和所用材料产生共鸣的原则。

Presented at the new art centre at Roche court, the site-specific piece emerges from the center of the gallery space out of a desk form, expanding outwards and upwards, wrapping around the perimeter of the room, finally resting along a side wall as a large hanging shelf. Addressing the relationship between form and function.

该大规模作品标志着Joseph Walsh工作室和作坊一个新的出发点。Joseph尝试继续进行对形态的探索，同时坚持最大限度利用材料的原则。这些材料是多年工作中累积下来的。该项目为Joseph Walsh工作室开启了新的探索领域。

“Magnus celestii” continues his signature formal language, while keeping in mind the principle of being sympathetic to the materials which he employs. The piece is a culmination of many years work and marks out new territorythe studio intends to continue exploring.
