Angular residence by Coo Planning sits on a corner plot in Hyōgo, Japan

In a quiet residential area of Takarazuka, a city located in Japan’s Hyōgo prefecture, architecture studio Coo Planning has completed an angular multi-storey residence on a prominent corner plot.Built into a gentle slope, the aluminum-clad building maximizes the plot’s dimensions in order to provide spacious living accommodation. The dwelling retains a sense of privacy through its careful positioning of apertures, placed to guarantee as much natural light as possible.

住宅室内，温暖的木材搭配反射自然光线的白色墙面，增强了住宅的光线。实用的底层主要作为存储空间，以及为外部停车提供荫蔽处。上层作为居住空间，通过一个独立入口进入，这里的餐厅可以俯视下沉的休息室。休息室空间外部添加了一个高架露台，在这里可以呼吸新鲜空气，感受自然环境。最上层为该住宅的睡眠区，有一间与另一个室外阳台连接的卧室。

Internally, warm timbers complement white surfaces that reflect light, exaggerating its presence within the home. A utilitarian ground level serves primarily as storage space, providing shelter for a parked car externally. Living accommodation is found above, accessible via a separate entrance, where a kitchen-diner overlooks a sunken lounge. This space also borders an elevated terrace, providing fresh air and a connection with the natural environment. The uppermost storey contains the property’s sleeping quarters, with one bedroom adjoining to another outdoor balcony.
