From the architect. The project started with an educational and development plan for the British International School in KL. Through this development, the master plan was designed to carefully phase out new buildings project and renovation work over the next five to seven years.
The first phase was to design a Cafeteria and a One-Stop Centre for parents. This facilities was emplaced in a new two storey building with a roof garden providing a gateway to the school offering support for students and parents alike.
It comprises a ground level open air shaded cafeteria to sit 200 children for meals and is serviced by an industrial kitchen that also provides catering for the balance of the campus in place of the existing deli. Arching over a sunken play area to the east is the vertical circulation stack of the building that is made up of an architectural stair and elevator. On the first floor , the building houses a parents deli , and other programme that involve the parents such as the administration office, transport office, PTA meeting rooms, uniform shop and toilets.
