water is life, an unvarying part of existence. in the future, as water levels rise and the world changes, people will have no choice but to adapt. that’s where companies like london’s ecoflolife come in. the business specializes in creating eco-friendly, floating residences. ‘waternest 100′ is one such home, designed by giancarlo zema design group.

the 100m2 dwelling is 12m in diameter and 4m high, made entirely of recycled laminated-timber and a salvaged aluminum hull. balconies are located on sides and thanks to large windows, permit nearly panoramic views of the surroundings. bathroom and kitchen skylights flood the space with sunshine, and 60m2 solar panels capable of generating 4kwp takes care of the rest. the interior of ‘waternest 100′ includes living and dining rooms, sleeping quarters, kitchen, and lavatory. other configurations can be adapted to different needs including but not limited to: an office, lounge bar, restaurant, retail shop, or exhibition area.

‘waternest 100′ can be positioned along rivers, lakes, bays, atolls and sea areas with calm waters. materials and sustainable production systems allow up to 98% of the dwelling to be recyclable. natural micro-ventilation and air conditioning is used, which further classify the structure as a low-consumption habitat. the unit is an ideal solution for those wishing to live independently and in total harmony with nature.
